A Calling to Equip Others
At Kingdom Keys, our mission is simple: to equip and empower volunteers to connect with young hearts for Christ. We believe that when a child feels loved, welcomed, and understood, their heart opens, and with it, their mind follows.
Founded by Dawn, a passionate advocate for children’s ministry with over 30 years in child development, Kingdom Keys was created out of a desire to serve those who serve. Dawn understands the joy, challenges, and lasting impact of walking alongside children in their faith journey. Through decades of experience, she’s learned that it’s not just about what you teach, it’s about how you make children feel while you’re teaching it.
Our Guiding Principle
"If you can win a child’s heart, their mind will follow."
This simple truth is the foundation of everything we do at Kingdom Keys. It reminds us that before a child will truly listen, learn, or engage, they need to feel safe, valued, and genuinely loved. Ministry isn’t about perfect lessons or flawless classrooms, it’s about showing up with warmth, kindness, and the heart of Christ.
When a child feels seen and understood, they become more open to the lessons we share about faith, hope, and love. That connection opens a door for God’s truth to take root in their hearts.
At Kingdom Keys, we teach volunteers how to build those heart connections first, through intentional relationships, a positive classroom atmosphere, and simple, sincere gestures like a welcoming smile or an encouraging word. These small moments create lasting impressions that shape a child’s relationship with church, faith, and God for years to come.
Why We Exist
Many volunteers step into children’s ministry without formal training, just a willing heart and a love for God. While passion is a beautiful starting point, it’s natural to feel unsure or unprepared when challenges arise in the classroom. That’s where Kingdom Keys comes in.
We believe that anyone with a heart to serve can be equipped to make a lasting impact on a child’s life. Our workshops are designed to meet volunteers where they are, offering practical tools and encouragement to help them feel confident, capable, and supported.
We exist because:
Every child deserves to be met with warmth, love, and the message of Christ in a way they can understand and feel.
Volunteers deserve to feel prepared, valued, and empowered to serve with confidence.
Churches thrive when their ministries are filled with people who feel connected, equipped, and united in purpose.
Small, heart-centered moments- a smile, a kind word, a welcoming classroom- can make an eternal difference in a child’s life.
If you have a desire to serve children but sometimes wonder, Am I enough? Can I really make a difference? our answer is yes, you can. And we’re here to help you do it well.
